We have raised several varieties of Marans, but the Wheaten Marans are our favorite. Not only do they produce gorgeous, dark chocolate colored eggs, they are sweet and friendly.
One of the best things about this type of Marans, is that gender can be determined by feather color at a young age! No waiting six weeks (or longer) to know who is male and who is female. We occasionally offer trios in addition to straight run chicks, depending on availability.
